Cable Car Square
Always held the first Saturday of October, which happens to be October 4 this year, The Tri-States’ Largest Chili Cook-Off transforms historic Cable Car Square on Dubuque’s Bluff Street into an aromatic chili tasting and competition. With live music and beer (two great accompaniments to a hot bowl of chili) Cook-Off also features a variety of kids games, food and entertainment at this family-friendly event. This is the 22nd year for the annual event.

“Yeah, ten years. Who knew?” began Gene Tully, sculptor and founder of the annual Voices art exhibit in the raw Wilmac warehouse space located in what is now known as the Historic Millwork District. Now in its tenth season, the month-long exhibit returns with another exhibit featuring 15 artists from local to regional to internationally recognized, displayed in the sprawling warehouse space on 10th Street. Along with the exhibit, the warehouse gallery space will host a month of special events, including a spoken word showcase, a live painting competition, live music events, a film screening, live theater, a runway fashion show, and more.
