Ah, St. Patrick’s Day … that annual celebration of Irish heritage, whether you happen to have any in your family ancestry or not… Just as the celebration is not limited to those of strictly Celtic lineage, the celebration itself need not be restricted to the traditional March 17 holiday, especially when it happens to fall on a Monday as it does this year. In fact, the timing of the holiday provides a perfect opportunity for Dubuque area Irish and lovers of a good party to start things off a wee bit early by celebrating an extended St. Patrick’s Day weekend, right through to the proper holiday.
