Photo Of The Day
Wingfest Photos!
Wingfest, the annual ode to the glorious wonders of the chicken wing, took place on the strip in East Dubuque over the weekend. 365 was there in many forms. Some were playing the rock and roll, some were taking photos, but along the way, we were all eating wings. Click here for photos from the event by a fw photos, but most notably, Ron Tigges of DigitalDubuque.com who was sporting a sexy vintage I Am 365 t-shirt.
gonna buy five copies for my mother...
Okay, so odds are that today's photo of the day, by Mike Ironside, of Bryce goofing off during last night's cover shoot for next week's issue of 365ink won't actually make it on the cover, but we think you get the idea of what's coming down the pike. The Irish Hooley is right around the corner and thousands of Tri-Staters are itching to get their Irish on one more time before the warm season is over. This year, the new Dubuque Fire Pipes & Drums Corps will marching into the party full of hot air!
Tax Free JJ!
In today's Photo of the Day, 365's Jon "JJ" Schmitz performs a live acoustic guitar set at the hip Kennedy Mall clothier Rue21 over the weekend as part of Iowa's Tax Free shopping weekend (which happens to coincide with "back to school" buying). We should also mention that Jon is probably one of only two people in the office who could go into Rue21 without being looked at funny. The rest of us are just too old and fashion illiterate. Click here to visit the JJ Schmitz Experience Facebook page and become a fan of Jon today!
Boogie Time!
Call it a soft opening... call it practice for Friday night... but if you were in the room, there was nothing half-way about Sunday night's preview of Boogie Nights, the 70's and 80's Dance club that will coming every Friday night to the Diamond Jo Casino's amazingly transformed Mississippi Moon Bar. We could try to explain it, but you really just have experience it in person to understand. And you can do just that this Friday night! Click here for photos from last night's Boogie Nights preview in 365's image vault. Photos by Dave Haas.
"Rewind" n' do it again!
Gayle Grether leads the Rewind Players (donning poodle skirts) in a killer rendition of Leader of the pack in this photo by Mark Dierker of Rock the Hub. Rock & Rewind brought back together the people who WERE the music scene in Dubuque in the 60's and 70's for a night of a thousand reunions. Click here for more details about the show you either saw or missed. We can't wait to share lots more photos of the event with you soon. Click here to see everything Rock the Hub has uploaded so far to their Facebook page.  Also, a little video I shot here! What an amazing night with stellar performances before a truly full house. Next year, I'm taking mom! It was so good, it know know generation gap!
No "Park"ing!
Ron and Jennifer Tigges went out after the dangerous flood waters subsided and captured some of the lingering damage from the flood, especially looking at how it affected some area park and nature areas like the Mines of Spain. Click here to check out their gallery on images at DigitalDubuque.com.
Fair Concerts
What better way to survive a Tuesday than to look back at last weekend's good times. Click here for photos from the two big concerts at the Dubuque County Fair featuring Rockford's own Cheap Trick and Buckcherry on 365's Facebook page. Photos by Paul Misner.

It's also a great day to find the 1/2 price coupon from Capri in the current issue  f 365ink and head on over for a haircut, or a manicure or whatever. The coupon is good Tuesdays and Wednesdays only so get on it!
Photo of the Day, July 30
What can I say, sometime's our work really isn't that hard. The 365 guys (Bryce pictured at right) and Mike Ironside behind the lens, were out shooting the next cover of 365ink last night and based on what you see here, you're probably wondering what the heck is going on? You're just going to have to look for the new 365ink Magazine next Thursday for all the answers and some amazing photos from tonight's crazy photo session. Needless to say, it's all Bryce's idea!
The ugly aftermath
The BMW in this photo by Steven Schluening, turned out to contain much more tragedy than just destruction as a life was lost in the accident. The ugly aftermath was lot worse that we imagined.  14" of rain = 243.32 MILLION gallons of water per sq. mile.... behold the power of water. We collected hundreds of photos of the damage including some stunning photos from East Dubuque and Galana, but they are all from friends and 365 fans Facebook pages. Some have different privacy setting on their Facebook accounts, so we figured the best way to share them was by posting their links all to our Facebook profile and anything you are eligible to see will show up there (a great reason to finally join Facebook) Click here for the carnage.
39 days & nights to go...
Stunned amazement at streets that looked more like rivers eventually turned to grief over basements full of water as all the rain we've been missing all year came last night. Click here for a few photos from the storm and flooding in downtown Dubuque on our facebook page. Also, check out this impressive video by Alan Huckelberry of the flooding at 17th & Main. Alan also snapped the great photo to the left of the same area. Wow! More video here by Gen. Bob Felderman. And click here to watch a dancing manhole cover by "Cinema" Steve Thompson. Mayor Buol has declared a disaster in Dubuque, click here for more information.
